Alcohol and social distancing don’t mix!

By  Henry Rose Lee

The Night-Time Industries Association says that despite restrictions relaxing in the UK this week, 30% of pubs & restaurants will stay shut.

We’re emerging from lockdown; getting our hair cut, shopping & socialising. Most are careful and respectful of the new norms for meeting up, going out & reconnecting.

Let’s remain vigilant. People who drink too much can’t manage their own body, let alone understand how the impact that staggering about, shouting abuse or throwing up in the street might have on others.

So make sure you mask up when moving around and get good at body-swerving drunks as they sway towards you.

It was never going to be easy to implement social distancing guidance but hats off to most of the public, who are out and about yet behaving with respect, courtesy and good humour around others.

Enjoy eating and drinking out with friends. Enjoy watching the world go by. And enjoy something we’ve all missed; watching the world go by.
