How do you recruit and motivate Gen Z today?
HR News talks about Gen Z and the concern today’s employers have about this so-called 'unemployable' generation.
It’s true that Gen Z has under-developed social & communication skills, due to their use of and dependence on, smartphones & social media. It’s also the case that many are unprepared for work.
It’s NOT true that Gen Z is lazy, entitled, and over-fragile.
Here’s how to recruit & motivate them...

💡 # Speak their language in job adverts & applications. Make them short, concise and easy to work through.
💡 # Give positive job titles and job descriptions which give a sense of status & value.
💡 # Make recruitment smooth yet human. Tech is great, but not at the expense of a person responding to concerns.
💡 # Make onboarding friendly, warm and personalised. Day 2 should be about health & safety, cybersecurity, rules and regs. Make day 1 about the new hire; who they are, what they bring, and what they’re interested in.
💡 # Show what good looks like in the job, so gen z hits the ground running. (Henry Rose Lee - Intergenerational Expert & Keynote Speaker)
Employers who treat gen z as a positive addition, rather than a necessary evil, will get their loyalty & commitment.
Isn’t that a better way to ensure the future of all talent?

Socially inept generation. Many are pretty dumb too. They have little skills if any , and live in an entitled fantasy. I avoid them as if they have the plague. The smart ones are going to rule them like medieval provincial peasants .fromfrom medieval
